About Jaylene Musgrave – Founder of Vegan Warriors
I’m the former Personal Assistant and Publicist to Jimmy Barnes and The Divinyls and left the music industry in Sydney and moved to the Sunshine Coast to dedicate my life to helping give animals a voice.
My plethora of stellar supporters includes Heather Mills, Suzie Wilks, Rockstars, Celebrities, Animal Lawyers, Barristers, Solicitors, University Lecturers, and many successful business owners amongst others.
Im the daughter of a former abattoir worker and in Australia, livestock are killed piece by piece. Stun guns are not always used as required and animals are often conscious when their tails, limbs and stomach are being removed.
Since seeing the horrific ways animals suffer at the hands of humans on 4Corners, Australians moralities have been awakened. I have been inundated with queries from non-vegans of all ages and backgrounds wanting to know how to be more compassionate consumers.
Many slaughtermen and women suffer a very high rate of drug and alcoholism directly related to the fact they are doing the dirty work that no-one wants to know about. They have stated a sense of disgust and uneasiness about their work but do not discuss this for fear of looking weak. They are outcasts in a society that prefers to ignore the fact that the “products” they buy nicely wrapped in polystyrene were once living, breathing beings with their own personalities and social bonds.
I do not receive any financial support and have over past few years, used the money from the sale of my house in Brisbane. Unfortunately, animals are overlooked when it comes to grant recipients.

My situation is a solemn one. Life is offered to me on condition of eating beefsteaks. But death is better than cannibalism. My will contains directions for my funeral, which will be followed not by mourning coaches, but by oxen, sheep, flocks of poultry, and a small traveling aquarium of live fish, all wearing white scarfs in honor of the man who perished rather than eat his fellow creatures. ~George Bernard Shaw
